The White Island in Camiguin

It is safe to say that the White Island in Camiguin is one of the most beautiful beach in the country. The beauty of this sandbar which changes in shape depending on the tide is enhanced by Mt. Hibok-Hibok as its backdrop.

To reach the island, you need to rent an outrigger boat at 400 pesos plus an entrance fee of 20 for protection of marine life and maintenance. The small wooden vessel can accommodate 6 persons. The white island is already visible from the shore and it would only take less than 20 minutes to reach the island. Prepare to get tanned because there is no shade that can protect you from being exposed to direct sunlight. However, beach umbrellas is available for rental.

I immediately fell in love with this beach even though I am not really a beach bum. There is a part of the island which is good for snorkeling. Snorkeling gears can be rented for 50-100 pesos. The water is really enticing that even the non-swimmer like me could not resist.
